The subconscious mind is the source of many of our problems and self-images. Our beliefs, habits, and behaviours are stored there. The subconscious mind is a tremendous reservoir of our unrecognized strengths and knowledge.
The whole object of this system is to take back the control that has been lost and which has therefore resulted in the symptom or problem.
The length of treatments depends upon the problem or symptom. Sometimes a single session maybe all that is required to successfully treat a condition, eg: nail-biting. Other problems such as panic attacks can take up to five to six sessions.
In the course of therapy, clients are taught self-hypnosis as part of theraputic homework tasks. The first session usually lasts 90mins (one and half hours), and subsequent sessions between an hour and an hour and a half.
